August 25 -- 2010 -- Gaijatra festival is being observed in Kathmandu on Wednesday. Today, families who have lost their family member during the year parade around the city with a decorated cow. Many kids disguise themselves as cows or ascetics and walk around in a procession along the festival route.

August 24th, 2010 – मंगलबार बिहान शिखरपुर, मकवानपुरमा चालक दल सहित १४ जना यात्रु बोकेको अग्नी एअरको ९ एन, एएचइ, डि २२८ डोनियर विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त भएको छ । दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुँदा भिषण वर्षा भइरहेको थियो। खराब मौसमका कारण लुक्लामा अवतरण गर्न नसकेपछि राजधानी फर्किएको विमान काठमाडौं आइपुग्नै लाग्दा पहाडमा ठोकिएर शिखरपुर गाविसको बस्तिपुरमा खसेको थियो। दुर्घटना मा ११ जना यात्रु सबैको मृत्यु भएको मध्ये ६ जना विदेशी नागरिक छन् ।

त्यस्तै आज बिहान मंगलबार सुर्खेतबाट जुम्लाका लागि खाद्यान्न लिएर उडेको ९ एन ए जेजी नम्बरको मकालु एयरको विमान आज बिहान दुर्घटनाबाट जोगिएको छ। बिहान सवाआठ बजेतिर विमान उडेको केही समयपछि एक्कासि ढोका खुलेपछि विमानलाई विमानस्थलमै आपतकालीन अवतरण गरिएको थियो।

Edmonton, Canada - August 02, 2010 – NECASE(Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton) participated at Heritage Festival 2010 in Edmonton with a great success. NECASE presented exclusive Nepalese dances and cultural programmes from their community children and adults. That was a tremendous success by Nepalese people living in Edmonton.

Mr. Narayan Pokhrel (the president of NECASE) , Yadav Sapkota, Laxman Adhikari, Aai Bahadur Gurung, Hrishikesh Adhikari, Shristi Pokhrel coordinated this year Nepal pavillion at Edmonton Heritage Festival.

Edmonton (ईड्मोनटन) क्यानाडा मा भर्खरै Heritage Fesitval 2010 सम्पन्न भयो | यहाँ ६३ बिभिन्न देश बाट क्यानाडा मा बसोबास गर्दै आइ रहेका समुदायहरु बाट आ-आफ्ना देश का cultural programme हरु ३ दिन सम्म (July 31st 2010 – August 02, 2010) प्रदर्शन गरे | त्यस्तै आ-आफ्ना देश का खाना, art & craft हरु पनि बिक्री प्रबर्धन गरे | बिगत ४ बर्ष देखी NECASE (नेकासे) Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton ले पनि यसपाली पनि धूम धाम का साथ सहभागी भएर नेपाल को exclusive परिचय यस मेला हेर्न आएका एक लाख भन्दा बढी जनता लाई दिए | धेरै ले ” I will visit Nepal one day and I love Nepalese food, products and people” भन्दै गरेका सुनेका थिए |

As previous years NECASE served exclusive Nepali food this year as well at Edmonton Heritage Festival. Lots of Nepali community volunteers participated at Nepalese food pavilion:

• Kukhurako Masu*chicken curry Chicken cooked with onion, garlic, ginger and other delicious spices
• Nepali Combo (Non Veg) Dal (lentil soup), bhaat (rice), chicken
• Daal Bhat Tarkari Lentil soup served with rice and vegetable (potato, green bean curry)
• Mo Mo Steam cooked ground pork mixed with vegetables and delicious spices wrapped in flour patties and served with Achaar
• Aalu Simi Tarkari Potatoes and green beans cooked with oil, salt, ginger, garlic, onions and other delicious spices
• Furaula Bean flour battered with potatoes, onions, spinach and other delicious spices served with Achaar
• Nepali Chiya Nepali tea with milk and spices
• Mango Juice Diluted canned mango pulp
• Ice Cream
• Lassie Diluted yogurt and mango pulp or litchie
• Pop or Water
